Car parks open at 8 a.m. on game days, including the First PREMIER Tailgate car park (west). Parking is free for A-Club members with their passes (if applicable) and only $10 per space for the public.

The site for all pregame festivities begins at 11:30 a.m., with appearances from the Viking Marching Band and Augustana Spirit squads as well as the South Dakota Beef Council sponsored A-Club tailgate. A-Club members will receive a free meal with their Viking Pass at A-Club Tailgate and fans who are not A-Club members will be able to purchase that same meal for $10.

Additionally, Augustana students have a specially designed space in Augieville to create their own tailgate, run by student support organization SKOL. Augieville is located north and west of Kirkeby-Over Stadium on the practice football ground.

Tailgate Contest
The South Dakota Beef Council sponsors a Beef Tailgate contest. With tailgating beginning at 8 a.m., teams are encouraged to submit their beef product for judging at 11:30 a.m. Augustana’s celebrity judges will judge based on taste, tailgate friendliness, presentation and artistry sales. beer garden

An expansion of JJ’s Beer Garden will allow safe drinking throughout much of Kirkeby-Over Stadium. Only one outlet will remain in the beer garden, located in the southeast corner of the stadium, where supporters can then take their drink back to their seats.

Alcohol-free zones will exist throughout the stadium, including sections 107, 108, 109, the northwest grass berm and section 202 on the visitors’ side. A map of alcohol-free zones is available here.

Admission to JJ’s Beer Garden will remain the same as last season, while JJ’s Wine, Spirits and Cigars will continue to operate the beer garden, including using its professionally trained staff to identify and bracelet those who are 21 and more. The service area will close at the end of the third quarter.

You can find more information about Augustana’s alcohol policy here.

The Viking Marching Band will provide fans with pregame and halftime performances alongside atmospheric sounds of a college football game coming from the band. 2021 marked the return of the Viking marching band while 2022 will only continue to add to the traditions of Viking football game days.

The game

Be bold, wear gold as Gabe, a kindergartener from Madison, South Dakota, will be the first child. Having previously battled cancer, Gabe is this year’s Sanford Children’s Champion and is just one of dozens of patients who rely on Sanford Children each year for lifesaving pediatric oncology care. At halftime of Saturday’s contest, there will be a “miracle minute” to collect cash donations from the crowd.

Augustana football, the defending NSIC champion, is on an 11-game regular-season home winning streak and has been named the NSIC favorite in 2022.
