Mando America Corporation, an auto parts maker headquartered in Opelika North America, will expand and add new employee positions.
Mando’s Opelika plant produces brake calipers and suspension systems for customers across the United States
The company will add an additional $ 8.9 million for equipment and building upgrades, for a total investment of more than $ 236 million, according to a statement from the City of Opelika.
“We are extremely honored that Mando is growing right here at Opelika,” Mayor Gary Fuller said in the statement. “This company is one of our largest manufacturing employers and we value employment opportunities for our citizens. “
With this expansion, the company will create 22 new jobs, bringing the total number of employees to over 400.

At the Opelika city council meeting on Tuesday, the council approved tax allowances and exemptions for the Mando America Corporation.
