Rochester Daycare Mom Needs Message For John Adams Parents

Emily Hershberger takes her kids from daycare for a walk every day at 9 a.m. and has a message for parents with children at John Adams Middle School in Rochester, Minnesota.

Your children are spectacular!

But why listen to me when you can see what Emily said.

John Adams’ moms and dads, if your kids have gym class at 9am: well done for having such polite college kids!

My daycare walks around 9am every day and they have a walking / cycling class that goes past us. They are always so polite to my kids and me.

Full of compliments.

The first few days of school my son who wears a dinosaur helmet stopped and said “mommy this is so distracting they keep saying I’m so cute” of course with a big one smile on the face.

All of us college kids and my crew are causing a huge traffic burn but they are great at overtaking us.

Today they were out again and a college girl stopped me to tell me that I was beautiful today and that I loved my outfit. I’m sure I looked stunned because I expected a compliment on the kids, but it made my day.

I called the office in the hope that the professor would tell them directly that they are also great.

That last line? This is the click. Schools hear a lot of complaints and compliments may be rare, but they are gentle and powerful drugs.

Did John Adams respond?

Answer to his story tells it better than I do.

Thank you very much for the positive feedback. I am a teacher at JA and have shared this post with the staff. I also passed it on to the school’s news program, JAG News, so all the kids could hear the positive comments.

The saying goes, it takes a village to help raise children. Thank you very much for recognizing the kindness and taking the time to share it. You made a lot of people’s day with a simple post!

College kids can get a bad rap (honestly, even from me) for growing up and learning, and it’s so embarrassing. And often a little smelly.

But for each GAHh! moment that we might have around college kids, we have so many others where we see their goodness.

Let me know of a story I should write, or if you have a comment, complaint or concern about something I wrote here, please let me know: [email protected]

Each seaside town has its own set of pros and cons, which got us thinking about what makes a seaside town the best place to live. For the knowledge, Stacker consulted WalletHub data, published on June 17, 2020, which compares American seaside towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. Cities had a population of 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read it full methodology here. From these rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will not be surprised to learn that many of the cities featured here are in one of these two states.

Read on to see if your favorite beach town has made the cut.
