Police say they met a man who said while driving on Academy Avenue he saw a young boy with a backpack walking alone – and called police as he pulled over to stay with the boy .
According to police, after speaking with the boy, he said he had left his home in Cranston Street to take a walk.
Police noted that the boy was only wearing a t-shirt and underwear.
The boy told police he was living at home with his mother and father; he was assessed by the rescue and determined he was fine.
The police reportedly responded to the home address given by the boy and contacted his father.
The child’s father took custody of the boy; police have not said if there are any charges at this time.
