Tom Brady will not be on the next season of The Masked Singerat least that’s the story he’s telling right now.

Brady addressed a growing conspiracy theory that he was actually involved in recording the FOX celebrity singing contest during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ absence for more than 10 days and return Monday (Aug. 22).

“I wasn’t on the masked singer (sic) last week. I was wearing a mask though,” Brady tweeted along with a video showing someone wearing nothing but headphones and their BRADY brand underwear making stunts on a motorcycle – although it’s unlikely to actually be the quarterback himself.

Brady agreed to a 10-year, $375 million deal to become FOX Sports‘ new senior NFL analyst each time he retires, which was among several examples provided in a Reddit post arguing about his participation in the singing contest.

Brady returned to the Buccaneers on Monday and reportedly took the time off to complete plans made with his family prior to his non-retirement announcement earlier this year.

League sources with knowledge of the situation said Professional football network that Brady is committed to spending time with his family, primarily his model wife Gisele Bundchenat an exclusive resort in the Bahamas during his absence from the team, which was planned prior to his decision to return for his 23rd NFL season in March, just weeks after his initial retirement announcement.

“His commitment to his family and his personal life were central to this hiatus from football, and there was no medical emergency, as speculated, or other reasons,” Professional football network wrote, which was shared on Twitter by an NFL reporter Dov Kleiman.

Rapoport added that “Brady is doing well and the team agrees with his reasons for being out,” but noted it would be “a little” long before the seven-time Super Bowl champion returns.

Bowles later confirmed that Brady was to be out of the team until after the Bucs’ preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on Aug. 20, according to Rapoport.

On Sunday, Aug. 21, Bowles told reporters that Brady would return to the team early in the week, according to Rapoport, who said he learned the seven-time Super Bowl champion was scheduled to be with the team on Monday.

The Buccaneers had already ruled out Brady for their preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins on Aug. 13 before his initial reported absence.
